EastEnders’ Phil Mitchell ATTACKS wife Sharon after discovering he is NOT the father of her unborn baby… and appears to return to the bottle in explosive Christmas teaser

EastEnders‘ Phil Mitchell is seen lashing out at cheating wife Sharon in a shocking new trailer for the BBC soap’s Christmas special.

Phil’s explosion occurs after he finally discovers that Sharon’s unborn child is not his – but is instead the baby of Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters), his daughter Louise’s boyfriend.

Viewers were left ‘shaking’ after watching the trailer, which gave a sneak peek of the dramatic Christmas day episode, where alcoholic Phil (Steve McFadden) appeared to return to the bottle.

The trailer starts with a devastated Louise (Tilly Keeper), who recently gave birth to daughter Peggy, looking upset as she sits down for Christmas dinner.

Phil is then seen staring moodily at a glass, in a hint that he may once more pick up the bottle after his previous struggles with alcoholism.

Ben, Phil’s son, is then seen promising his father that treacherous Keanu ‘will not outlive Christmas’ after the pair become aware of his and Sharon’s cheating.

And then in the shocking carnage between Phil and his wife (Letitia dean), the hard man exclaims: ‘Worth it? Was he?’ before throwing a chair across the room.

Phil then tells Ben (Harry Reid) and Louise that they are the only people he trusts.

And there is more drama outside of the Mitchell family, with Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) seen telling his wife Linda (Kellie Bright), ‘you’re drunk’, as she stumbles in Albert Square while wearing a Mrs Claus outfit.

Meanwhile, Martin Fowler (James Bye) is seen in tears as he stars at an open fire.
