Marvel’s Runaways is based on the comic book superhero team of the same name with the show taking place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, sharing continuity with the films and other TV shows in the franchise.

On her role as a supervillian in the third series, the TV and film star admitted to Buzzfeed’s AM to DM she had limited knowledge on the world of comics.

She explained: ‘It was a very fresh and interesting thing for me to do. I wasn’t comic book fan.

‘We had comic books when I was younger but they weren’t really supervillian vs superhero… they were more so about girls fighting over hairbrushes.

‘I’ve always wanted to have super powers, it’s like stepping into a brand new world. Fans too, are in a league of their own. Any experience is a great experience.

‘I love being a supervillian, even though I was a mean one, I was always hysterical at work, I loved it! I loved zapping those kids. I want to zap people everyday!’

Meanwhile, Elizabeth also admitted she would have reservations about signing up for a potential revival of the Austin Powers franchise.

The actress portrayed Vanessa Kensington Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery in 1997 and in the 1999 sequel The Spy Who Shagged Me.

Sharing her thoughts on whether she’d like to return for a sequel, Liz candidly said: ‘I don’t know, I don’t think anyone wants to step back and create something when they’re 20 years older.

‘I think it’s OK if something’s organically progressed, but I don’t think anybody wants to run around in costumes we were 20 years ago.’

The model later admitted she still wears similarly racy ensembles today as she drew parallels between her costumes in Runaways and 2000 comedy film Bedazzled, where she played a sexy devil.

She added: ‘Mind you, I have to say in Runaways I was aware that I was wearing a green version of my red dress in Bedazzled.’
