Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Kit said: ‘I'm the “loner Throner,” it seems. I just imagine myself sitting down at a table all by myself as the “loner Throner!” ‘

Kit went on to say that he wanted all of the cast to be nominated and added that he wished the show as a whole was represented more.

He said: ‘Obviously, I wanted everyone to be nominated, and I feel like they should, as anyone who loves their show and loves their cast and crew would feel and want.

‘I'm happy for my nomination, and I'd love the show to be represented [more], but it won an Emmy, and it wasn't nominated for a Globe. So I'll represent the show on my own. I'll do my best.’

When They See Us from Ava DuVernay was left out while Sandra Oh was not nominated for Killing Eve but her co-star Jodie Comie was.

HBO's Euphoria starring Zendaya, did not receive any nominations while This Is Us, starring Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia, which usually picks up many nominations, was also left off the list.

The Handmaid’s Tale, which won for Best Drama in 2018, was also not nominated for the 2020 show.

The final season of Game Of Thrones aired in May, and was blasted by fans after they complained the series went out on a low with its controversial storyline.

By the end, Kit’s character Jon Snow was banished beyond the Wall, while Sophie Turner’s s Sansa Stark became Queen of the North after the region seceded from the Seven Kingdoms when her brother Bran took over the Iron Throne.

Speaking at the Emmys in September, Kit revealed to Entertainment Weekly that he hasn’t watched the show’s final season amid fan backlash, as he said: ‘I still haven’t seen the show so that’s how I dealt with that controversy.

‘I haven’t seen the final season but I know what it took to shoot it and it was hard and everyone put their love and effort into it.

‘I think for us, we knew what we were doing was right, story-wise and we knew that it was right for the characters because we lived with them for 10 years so controversy for us didn’t really affect us.’

After his eight-year stint on Game of Thrones, Kit is returning to the big screen with a role in the new Marvel Studios movie Eternals.

Filming started in August on Eternals, where Harington stars alongside Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Kumail Nanjiani, Gemma Chan and his Game of Thrones co-star Richard Madden.

Chloe Zhao (The Rider) directs Eternals, which has been given a November 6, 2020 release date.
