Stella Maxwell was one of several celebs to face backlash for attending the recent MDL Beast Festival in Saudi Arabia.

The model has since returned to Los Angeles, where she seems to be avoiding the controversy.

She flaunted her taut midriff in a black crop top Saturday as she stepped out with friends at the Chateau Marmont.

The 29-year-old teased her décolletage with buttoned cutouts down the crop top, which was paired with a black leather moto jacket and cuffed faded jeans.

She completed the look with some avant-garde cat-eye sunglasses and black leather creepers with black socks.   

Maxwell was one of several to receive criticism for attending MDL Beast Fest, including Sofia Richie, Winnie Harlow, Alessandra Ambrosio, Luka Sabbat, Armie Hammer and Ryan Phillippe.

Many in attendance have faced some backlash on social media from fans calling out the tone-deaf nature of such an event in Saudi Arabia.

They cited last year’s government-sanctioned murder of journalist Jamal Kashoggi, the arrest of women's rights activist Loujain al-Hathloul and the outing of gay journalists, where homosexuality is illegal and punishable by death.

The music festival is seen by many to be an attempt at changing Saudi Arabia’s image. 

Maxwell took to Instagram from the event as she hung out with fellow model Irina Shayk.

Diet Prada claimed that ‘six-figure sums were offered for attendance and geo-tagged posts.’

Emily Ratajkowski turned down an appearance, telling Diet Prada: ‘It is very important to me to make clear my support for the rights of women, the LGBTQ community, freedom of expression and the right to a free press.

‘I hope coming forward on this brings more attention to the injustices happening there.’
